Job Description:

Position DescriptionAs part of the Ryder team, the Administrative Assistant-II position provides administrative support to department staff; may provide specific secretarial support including a full range of administrative duties.Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 (three) years prior advanced administrative experience
  • Intermediate level skills with MS Word such as including styles, mail merge, tabs, tables, columns and breaks, graphics, fields, headers and footers, working with margins, page orientation, and spelling/grammar
  • MS Excel skills such as freezing/unfreezing panes, hiding/un-hiding data, setting print titles & page breaks, linking workbooks, creating external links, re-directing links, customizing toolbars & menus, protecting a worksheet, filtering options, and chart formatting options (intermediate level)
  • MS Powerpoint skills (basic level)
  • Good command of the English languageADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
    • Proficient customer service and phone etiquette skills
    • Candidate must have the ability to be detailed, proactive, and able to handle multiple tasks in a timely manner
    • Must have the ability to be a team player in assisting others
    • Successful candidate must be able to work with all levels in the organization and have an ability to work independently with little supervision
    • Candidate must also have demonstrated an ability to perform assigned tasks under own initiative and an ability to prioritize and organize
    • Prior knowledge of company procedures and policies is preferred
    • Ability to:
      • Communicate clearly and accurately
      • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
      • Show patience and courtesy when dealing with people Responsibilities
        • Accounting duties including intercompany billings, unclaimed property, Ryder charitable foundation account, credit/debit memos, and invoicing
        • Setting up and typing reports, memos, presentations and correspondence often of a technical and/or confidential nature
        • Compose routine correspondence, sort and distributing daily mail, answer routine inquiries, take messages and directs callers to proper parties, and schedule appointments, meetings and keep manager's calendar
        • Makes travel arrangements, maintain filing system, assist in organizing and expediting flow of work through manager' s office
        • Acts as interface with internal and external customers
        • Resolves routine issues in absence of manager
        • Compiles, researches and tabulates data and may perform some analysis
