Apply accounting principles and procedures for all phases of the
general ledger to identify and analyze financial information,
prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and
ensure appropriate accounting control and procedures. Maintenance
and administration of Accounting related Software, including but
not limited to PeopleSoft and Trintech. Evaluating and automating
accounting processes in accordance with policies and procedures to
create efficiencies within the department.
Evaluate and streamline processes in order to create efficiencies
within the Accounting department.
Liaise with Information Technology and other areas of the business
on initiatives to automate accounting processes across all
Design, create and improve macro enabled workbooks and/or
PowerPivot workbooks to enhance automation.
Work with Business Intelligence team to develop reports for
Monitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projects.
Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with General
Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Company policy and other
accepted policies and procedures to assure consistency in
Analyze accounting transactions to ensure accuracy and appropriate
recording of information and calculation and directs correcting
entries resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities and
making sure all phases of the general ledger, month end and
financial statements are correct.
Support management with special projects such as the implementation
of departmental policies, procedures and controls.
Compile and analyze financial information, prepare monthly,
quarterly and annual financial reports.
Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of
accounting control procedures to provide direction and guidance in
connection with those accounting transactions, procedures, and
reports through the department.
Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. Master's degree in
accounting or CPA is preferred.
Minimum four years of relevant accounting experience. Combined
experience in public accounting and the private sector a plus.
Experience in cruise industry is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Account Reconciliation software knowledge preferred. Expert
proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required (Macros (VBA),
PowerPivot, etc.). Experience with Peoplesoft software or large
company ERP systems a plus. Strong communication skills, (verbal
and written). Strong organizational, interpersonal and analytical
skills. Attention to detail is essential. Able to work extra hours
during month end close and as needed.
