We build advanced cloud-based hospitality software for over ten thousand hotels, hostels, vacation rentals servicing hundreds of thousands of guests a year. For speed and reliability, we heavily leverage Amazon Web Service (AWS). Our software manages reservations and guests, distributes room availability, sells inventory, and collects payments. We are looking for this Engineering Manager to power this growth - our internal billing platform is not only responsible for invoices and other critical finance functions, and it also rolls out pilots for product, configures demo accounts for sales, and provides information and toggles for customer support. Integrated with our CRM, ERP, and finance systems, this proprietary platform is the scaffolding upon which many integral parts of Cloudbeds will scale. As a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Leader, you will lead a cross-functional team in order to support this growth phase, and operations beyond. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in driving decision making in architecture and technology design while using a hands-on approach to mentor a proficient team into a greater one. • Manage a high performing, agile software team focused on internal products and integrations in a rapidly growing, global SaaS company
• Partner closely with engineering, product, and leadership to facilitate project delivery
• Leveraging your background, actively contributing to technical discussions and strategy
• Work with our recruiting team to hire and onboard top engineering talent
• Encourage a healthy and innovative team culture demonstrating Cloudbeds' values through mentorship and coaching
• Improve the team and the product by enforcing standards in testing, architecture, and code, delivering superior softwareYou'll Succeed With:
  • 7+ years of total experience developing software and managing engineers
  • 3+ years experience managing international multi-disciplinary teams
  • Working knowledge of PHP, MySQL, and one other modern framework/language (front end or back end)
  • Passion for risk-averse development utilized by industries such as banking, invoicing, payments, fintech, etc
  • A desire to thrive in a dynamic, remote environment by leveraging your project management, time management, and organizational skills
  • A strong desire to drive high-impact, rapid, and iterative change in a fast-moving environment.
  • Excellent written and spoken communicationNice to Haves:
    • Advanced degree in a quantitative field of study (Mathematics, Computer Science, etc)
    • Knowledge of Angular.JS, React, Redis, Aurora, and SQS.
    • Experience programming or supporting applications in Amazon Web Services.
