Financial Aid RepresentativeCBT Technology Institute is looking for a Financial Aid Representative to join their growing team at Miami (33144)/ Hialeah (33012), Florida Job Description:The Financial Aid Representative evaluates, approves, and awards financial aid to students in accordance with federal, state, and university regulations, policies, and operating guidelines. Assesses financial needs of students, and advises students and parents regarding financial aid options, processes, and requirements. Evaluates student academic progress, and adjudicates academic progress appeals. Participates as appropriate in systems/procedures planning and management; implements and coordinates specific individual programs and/or assignments, in accordance with the overall objectives of the department.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Collects and/or reviews financial aid applications to determine completeness and eligibility for financial aid.Verifies accuracy of documents and consistency of data from need analysis processor, federal tax returns, financial aid transcripts verification document, and student information; perform data analysis to identify discrepancies in data; determines the action for resolution.Requests additional information for incomplete or inconsistent applications needed to perform accurate need analysis.Processes applications according to federal guidelines or regulations; denies aid if ineligible; performs needs analysis calculations according to guidelines and determines eligibility and appropriate award donors, adjustment, changes, and/or corrections.Answers questions, inquiries, or requests of students, parents, lenders, guarantee agencies, staff in person, in writing, or by telephone regarding financial aid eligibility and awards.Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; at least 1 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.Experience: Financial Aid Title IV (Minimum 1 Year)Must be Fluent bilingual: English/Spanish (Verbal/Written)Cultural Values/Accountability:Demonstrating empathy, patience, and compassion through active listening and positive, constructive feedback.Assuming positive intent by withholding judgment and seeking understanding and being able to receive feedback.
