Job Description:

Staff AccountantThe Staff Accountant is responsible for providing accurate and complete accounting of all aspects of all USPAGL entities. Duties include the compilation of monthly financials, journal entries, tax reporting, budgeting, royalty sales reports, invoicing, forecasting, inventory reconciliation and roll forwards.The Staff Accountant shall use his/her discretion regarding budgetary items and preparation thereof, as well as ensure that the financial reporting is in compliance with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). ResponsibilitiesPrepares internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from various departments for all entities.Maintains and balances an automated system by inputting data, scheduling required projects, and verifying data.Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports and verifying information.Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files, reconciling accounts.Review, calculate, analyze, and invoice quarterly Licensee royalty calculations and sales reportsResponsible for recording and invoicing all revenue and reimbursements for all entities.Responsible for the inventory reconciliation including costing and LDP reconciliation as well as inventory roll-forward schedules for all entities.Responsible for reviewing and recording daily and monthly sales reports for all entities.Responsible for weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting and any ad-hoc reporting requested by the operations team.Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current processes and recommending changes.Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.Provides accounting support as needed by reviewing financial information, converting data to general ledger system/s and obtaining supplementary information for preparing financial statements.Prepares and processes sales and use tax returns for multiple states and companiesAssists the Assistant Controller with the USPAGL consolidated month-end close and other duties as needed.Assist the CFO in the annual budget preparation and analysis.Supports finance with payments, tax certificates and other duties as needed.Prepare and analyze quarterly budgets for the various departments and entities.Assists the CFO in the annual audit and income tax returns by preparing reconciliations, spreadsheets and reviewing financial information.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.Performs administrative duties, such as reconciling accounts, maintaining schedules, filing and production of forms.Other duties as assigned. QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Accounting or FinanceMinimum of 3-5 years performing full charge accounting, as well as preparation and compilation of financial statementsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to prioritize tasks, work independently with little supervision, and deadline-orientedReporting and analytical skillsGAAP accounting skillsComputer literate: QuickBooks, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Adobe, Internet, etc.Advanced Excel skills including v-lookups, IF formulas and pivot tables.The Right FitYou can adapt and work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and prioritize like a pro.You are professional, positive, and proactive with a can-do mindset.You believe in open and honest communication.
