The State Attorney's Office, 15th Judicial Circuit, is currently accepting applications for a

LEGAL ASSISTANT I.

Position Title: Legal Assistant I



Position summary and Duties:



This position is responsible for a wide variety of office duties including:

Preparation of legal documents, maintaining files and case management system, maintain calendars and coordination of meetings and depositions, process and distribute mail and electronic media and accompany attorneys to court as needed.



Applicants should possess knowledge of legal terminology and be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. An applicant must be detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks, work under pressure and adapt to changing situations as well as exhibit a willingness to perform other tasks as assigned. The successful candidate will be ready to work as part of a team and also be capable of independent judgment.



Salary & Benefits



Current entry-level annual salary for Support Staff is $31,200.00. This position includes a comprehensive benefit package including:

    Minimum Requirements:



    Education: Standard high school diploma or equivalency and 2 years secretarial experience; an equivalent combination of both can be substituted for required experience. Legal secretarial experience is preferred.

    Additionally, applicant must possess a valid Florida drivers license and demonstrate the ability to type and enter data accurately.



    Physical Demands:



    This position requires normal pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds and moving boxes and files.

    Any offer of employment would be contingent upon a negative drug screen and must pass a background records check and fingerprinting.

    The successful candidate will be required to complete the Form I-9 and that information will be verified using the E-Verify system. E-Verify is operated by the Department of Homeland Security in partnership with the Social Security Administration to verify employment eligibility.
