Job Description:
Senior Staff Software Engineer for Howmedica Osteonics
Corporation in Fort Lauderdale, FL to Design, develop and maintain application
software for robot assisted surgery products. Work closely with peers
in software engineering, software quality assurance and project and
product management to develop software that meets customer and
system requirements. Identify issue root causes and potential
solutions. Follow defined design practices including Agile methodology and
the use of sound software engineering principles to ensure that the
application software products are safe, robust and user friendly. Design
and implement complex concepts and systems including system
architectural design, relevant design documentation, test planning and
execution. Ensure compliance with the relevant requirements in cooperation
with other engineering disciplines. Work with core team to determine
project schedules and time commitments to communicate status of
assignments to project management. Requires: Bachelor's degree in Computer
Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or Biomedical
Engineering (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus seven (7)
years of experience performing application software and embedded
software architecture and design or, alternatively, a Master's degree and
five years of experience as noted above. Specific skills/other
requirements (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this
section): developing complex software systems using C++ programming
language in Linux OS; modeling and visualizing objects using
three-dimensional graphics and geometry in the medical domain; developing image
processing algorithms for commercial products; documenting software design
and architecture in UML; and implementing communication protocols,
