Employment Type: Permanent Contract Duration: N/A About the team you are joining Reporting to IATA's Regional Director for Airport, Passenger, Cargo and Security (APCS), the successful candidate will lead the development, approval and implementation of IATA's regional security and facilitation positions, and implementation strategies. The successful candidate will work closely with member airlines, governments, regional organizations and industry partners, as well as other IATA departments. What your day would be like Serve as IATA's leading regional expert on security, facilitation and aviation matters, including those related to legislative and regulatory developments; Work closely with IATA member airlines, the Regional Offices of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), national regulators, government agencies and airlines associations to represent industry views, and to implement regional versions of security, cyber and facilitation standards; Work towards increasing IATA's revenues through enhancement of training and consulting offerings; Lead the regional industry efforts to review standards, establish regional road maps, and guidance material to combat cyber security threats and vulnerabilities; Develop reports and analysis of geopolitical events that affect civil aviation. Specially, 40% of the role's time will be based in Washington D.C., developing productive relationships and work plans with key agencies of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (i.e. Transportation Security Administration, Customs and Border Protection, and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency), The successful candidate will be required to work with IATA's core security team in the global provision of standards, recommendations practices and guidance influenced by key Washington D.C. Agencies. We would love to hear from you if You have the following qualifications: Graduate degree with concentration in either political science, international relations, economics, or law. 10+ years of working experience with a minimum of 5-10 years of relevant industry experience in the field of Security; aviation security, cyber experience is highly desirable. Strong communication skills and ability to speak and write with conviction and persuasively before large audiences. Proven leadership and management experience in a high-pressure, multicultural, and international environment. Ability to perform under pressure and within variable working hours and schedules.
