INFORMATION:
We are The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean
Association Football, one of six continental confederations of FIFA
(F--d--ration Internationale de Football Association). Concacaf
serves as the governing body of football in this part of the world.
It is composed of 41 national associations united by the passion
for football, from Canada in the north to Guyana, Suriname and
French Guiana in the south. Concacaf is committed to develop,
promote and manage football throughout the region. POSITION
PURPOSE:
The primary responsibility and focus of this position are to
identify internal and external strategic issues and opportunities
that could affect growth and profitability of the organization as
well as the implementation of a broad range of strategic and
financial initiatives for Concacaf. The optimal candidate excels in
challenging traditional thinking and in developing strategies for
new initiatives and business opportunities working in collaboration
across departments within the Confederation. - ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS:
- Work with cross-functional working teams to explore new
commercial opportunities and ventures for the Confederation.
- Conduct research on emerging areas within media, technology,
sports, sponsorship, licensing, gaming, and live events and build
business case and strategies to explore new opportunities.
- Evaluate and interpret market shifts, long term trends,
competitive and fan intelligence to inform strategic business
decisions.
- Oversee financial modeling and analysis to assess and advance
new strategic opportunities.
- Assist in defining and developing the products, services and
partnerships that will underpin the Confederation's expansion into
sports betting, gaming and licensing.
- Identify and develop optimal revenue models, deal terms, and
partnership structures for potential strategic investments.
- Articulate and drive strategic plans across the Confederation
to ensure our plans, investments, partnerships, and affiliations
are effectively executed to realize the intended outcomes.
- Develop relationships with partners across the investment and
entrepreneurial communities. SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND
ABILITY:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and
abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that s/he can
perform the essential functions of the job, with or without
reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills
and abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Strategy or
related field. MBA is preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in Strategy and Planning in sports,
entertainment, media, or technology industries.
- Proven experience in business modeling and driving bottom-line
growth.
- Familiarity with unique deal structures such as equity
investments and joint ventures.
- Experience in forming commercial partnerships in content and/or
IP licensing.
- Ability to synthesize and communicate complex information into
a clear and compelling story that can help decision makers commit
to action.
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of corporate finance and basic
accounting.
- Excellent project and client management skills.
- Self-starter who can work independently within set
objectives.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while
working as both part of a team as well as independently.
- Fluent in Spanish and English / proficiency in French or Dutch
is a plus.
- Candidate must have the flexibility to travel nationally and
internationally for the performance of his/her duties.
Approximately travel requirement: 10 to 15% Due to the cyclical
nature of the sports and entertainment industry, the employee may
be required to work varying schedules including game nights to
reflect the business needs of the company. This job description in
