Job Description Position title: DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS Reports
to: Sr. Rector Job classification: Full-time, Exempt Direct
reports: Sexton (FT), Accountant (PT) SUMMARY The Director of
Operations for Holy Trinity Episcopal Church of West Palm Beach, FL
is responsible for the business and physical aspects of running the
church and its properties. These responsibilities include: office
management, human resources, church campus management, financial
administration and public liaison while ensuring compliance with
applicable regulations and laws. Primary Functions Office
Management and Human Resources Oversees the day-to-day church
office functions. Lead and guide the Holy Trinity staff in
partnership with the Sr. Rector. Hire and evaluate employees in
consultation with Sr. Rector and Personnel Committee. Develop and
document policies and procedures regarding Human Resource
management with Sr. Rector and Personnel Committee. Assist in
recruiting, coordinating, and scheduling volunteers as needed under
the direction of Sr. Rector and/or committee leadership. Source and
institute secure internal communications aligned with digital
record-keeping capabilities. Church Campus Management Report
regularly to Sr. Rector, Junior Warden, and Building and Grounds
Committee. The Sexton (full-time) reports directly to the Director
of Operations. Church campus management duties include overseeing
the maintenance and security of church facilities and property
while establishing and maintaining a current inventory of supplies
and equipment. Develop and document policies and procedures
regarding church campus short-term usage, rental and long-term
lease agreements in partnership with Sr. Rector, Vestry, Holy
Trinity Properties, applicable committees, organizations and/or the
community. Develop and maintain a campus access system (structures
and parking) while ensuring 24/7 security. Source and ensure
compliance of service agreements by contractors and service
providers: i.e.; cleaning services, HVAC, fire prevention and alarm
systems. Financial Administration Partners closely with the church
Treasurer, Accountant and staff ensuring the effective use of
church funds and meets financial obligations. The Accountant
(part-time) reports directly to the Director of Operations. Assist
in the preparation of annual church budget. Oversee, in partnership
with the Treasurer, all church finances including the development
of supporting policies and procedures. Internal and External
Liaison Acts as one of the church---s leaders and liaisons while
believing in and demonstrating the church---s teachings in life and
work. Establish and maintain relationships with Sr. Rector, Assoc.
Rector, Vestry, staff, parishioners and key community leaders.
Maintain visibility with parishioners and donors. Knowledge and
Skills Associate or bachelor---s degree desired Minimum of five
years in administration Excellent organization management and
communication skills Knowledge of principles and practices of
church or nonprofit administration High energy level with excellent
interpersonal skills and the ability to perform multifaceted
projects Ability to demonstrate initiative and desire to acquire
new skills Accounting and or financial training Excellent computer
skills Physical and Mental Abilities Ability to drive a vehicle
Always maintain confidentiality regarding persons and information
Possess good general mobility and the ability to perform common
physical activities Exude and maintain a calm professional demeanor
in a sometimes fast-paced environment Ability to interact with
diverse populations Use of sight and auditory senses Company
