JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the Director of Global HSE, the Manager of
Field Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) will provide leadership
and expertise to drive best-in-class performance within their
assigned region. The successful candidate will partner with
leadership to establish vision and strategy and advance a safety
culture throughout the organization and assigned project sites.
This person will support developing, planning, and implementing a
robust, compliant and consistently applied safety program to ensure
a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment for employees
and sub-contractors. The role will also provide technical and
compliance expertise, support the field operations of safety and
ensure proper reporting practices of all workers' compensation,
general liability, and claims.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develop and implement a robust safety program within the assigned
region.
Partner with leadership and site leaders to drive safe behaviors
and good habits resulting in strong safety culture with all
employees/teams.
Provide technical and compliance expertise to business leaders and
personnel at all levels.
Ensure project sites comply with federal, state, and local safety
regulations by keeping abreast of existing and new legislation,
anticipating future legislation, interpreting standards, enforcing
adherence to the law, and advising management on needed
actions.
Drives implementation of strategic safety initiatives to achieve
safety objectives; identifies elements of change required to
support the safety strategy; encourages management teams to balance
short-term demands with long-term benefits of strategic safety
programs; inspires commitment and involvement with safety
objectives programs.
Conduct periodic audits of operations in coordination with local
safety representatives and site leaders, provide appropriate
support levels, and assist in tracking audits to completion.
Be the critical focal point for leadership in setting direction and
content of safety programs, training, trend analysis, and best
practice implementation.
Help to facilitate and conduct required training for safety
representatives and employees.
Develops and executes strategy to streamline existing safety
systems, to reduce complexity and costs without adversely impacting
effectiveness and performance.
Develop, provide oversight, and implement safety-related training
programs while keeping required compliance and standards required
by all local and federal safety requirements.
Demonstrated success in improving safety performance and
establishing best practices. Proven examples of engagement across
all levels of an organization.
Proven ability to manage a team of safety professionals in a highly
dynamic and changing environment
Travel up to 75% of the time as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum bachelor's degree, combined with professional training and
relevant work experience.
Requires a minimum of 7 years' experience in construction
safety.
2-3 years' experience managing a team with operational and safety
accountabilities within a large organization.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Safety certifications are preferred, e.g., CSP, ASP, etc.
Ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of OSHA and worker's
compensation compliance standards.
Located in the Midwest or West region.
