Known for its colorful murals, art deco, hip vibe and Miami's best nightlife scene, Wynwood is the city's most vibrant district and will be home to Arlo Hotels' next property.

Hopeful street artists come from near and far to tag their names on the walls of Wynwood; to stand alongside some of the world's best-known street artists. The surrounding streets of Wynwood feature warehouses that have been converted to art galleries, restaurants, late-night bars, artisan shops, and boutique clothing stores. Just 20 minutes from South Beach, Wynwood offers the ideal Miami urban escape.

Launching its fifth hotel in the portfolio, Arlo continues to break ground, literally and figuratively, with the first hotel in the Wynwood district. The 217-room property, located at 2217 NW Miami Court, is slated to open in October 2022. The hotel will consist of 9 floors including a Penthouse suite, a spectacular rooftop pool that will have an outdoor bar, lounge chairs and four cabanas serving 360 views. The ground floor consists of a lobby lounge, retail shelves, grab and go bodega, as well as full-serviced counter lobby bar and restaurant with indoor/outdoor seating. There will be a separate entertainment area, located on the northeast side of the property. The 3rd floor will play host to an outdoor courtyard with a bar and "beer garden", a gallery space that will concert into two flex spaces, a game room which can be converted into a private room, interior bar with lounge spaces, a fitness rom, exterior yoga deck, and a hospitality suite.

To bring the art vibes of Wynwood to the property, Arlo Wynwood will have interior artwork in collaboration with Indie Walls (an art curator of new and upcoming local artists) and an exterior fa--ade which will feature graffiti and artwork by local Miami-based artists.

This position is responsible for providing People Services (human resources) leadership in the areas of recruitment & selection, performance management, succession planning, training, employee relations, employment legislation, policies & procedures and health & safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:

--- Provides thoughtful, concise, and strategic advice to the General Managers, Department Heads, Managers and Supervisors through all matters related to human resources

--- Uses judgment supported by human resource acumen and practical experience.

--- Assists VP of People Services on maintenance and upkeep of annual budgets.

--- Leads the delivery of human resource policies, practices and programs.

--- Manages the recruitment and selection function for all managerial and assists hourly positions for NYC properties.

--- Oversees and executes the training and development program - Cultural Training, Health and Safety Training all other related training programs

--- Assisting in Management of Benefits and 401K Program.

--- Ensures the hotel is operating in full compliance with all state and federally legislated employment standards, guidelines and human rights codes.

--- Conducts regular wage/salary reviews and local surveys to ensure hotels are remaining competitive in the market.

--- Assist the VP of People Services in developing human resources operations financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; aligning monetary resources; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.

--- Assists managers with specific training needs within their department.

--- Maintains an open door policy for all and acts as a liaison between employees and managers.

--- Coaches, guides and administers the progressive discipline process with the Managers/Supervisors up to termination of employment.

--- Establishes and maintains confidential employee files, maintains accuracy and integrity

--- Champions the Employee Engagement Survey (ESS) process, interprets the results, and supports the development and implementation of action plans.

--- Brand Ambassador for Hotel

--- Updates job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

REQUIREMENTS:

--- Multi- property experience an asset

--- Opening or Transition experience an asset

--- 5-7 years' experience in Human Resources with at least 4 years in a leadership capacity.

--- University/ College Bachelor's Degree

--- Diploma or Certificate in Human Resources Management

--- Service focused, understands the principles and processes required for providing exceptional, personal service in a timely manner

--- Strong leadership skills; seasoned coach and mentor

--- Thorough working knowledge of all human resources disciplines (benefits, compensation, training, recruitment, performance management, employee relations).

--- Thorough knowledge of and practical experience with relevant state/federal employment standards.

--- Proven ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organization

--- Excellent communication and organizational skills
