ProHealth is one of the largest private multi-specialty medical practices in the Northeast and has been serving the health needs of Long Island and the Greater New York Metropolitan area since 1997. With over 900 providers in 300 locations, our goal is to provide quality health care to ensure that our patients get the right care at the right time.

The position is responsible for, but not limited to processing electronic and manual remittance transactions, posting complex payment and contractual adjustments to patient's accounts. Reconcile cash transactions, electronic remittance files, credit/debit card and ACH payments and works closely with the billing and collections managers to resolve posting problems.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Process ERA & manual payments and adjustments as assigned
  • Interpret, evaluate, and clarify research requests to determine potential payment issues
  • Perform extensive primary and secondary research to locate missing EOB's and insurance payments for posting to accounts
  • Payment batch reconciliation
  • Use of appropriate denial and adjustment reason codes for accurate reporting
  • Research and apply unapplied cash balances
  • Review EOB and forward claims that need correction and appeals to collections team
  • Apply knowledge of contractual insurance reimbursement rates and bring any variances in payment to the attention of the management team.
  • Regularly meet with management team to discuss and resolve issues or billing obstacles

    Required Qualifications:


    • 1+years of demonstrated relevant health insurance payment posting
    • Epic EMR experience
    • Skilled in Excel, Word, and Outlook
    • Solid MS Excel and Word capabilities

      • Illustrate solid reconciliation techniques
      • Demonstrate proven analytical and organizational skills
      • Demonstrate solid written & interpersonal communication skills
      • Ability to easily flex between competing priorities in workload or change in deadlines
      • Able to work efficiently independently
      • Exceptional attention to detail

        Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, or New York City Residents Only: The hourly range for Colorado residents is $16.00 to $26.88. The hourly range for Connecticut/Nevada/New York City residents is $16.83 to $29.66.
