Job Description:
Has responsibility for the development and execution of the
salesstrategy for a small to medium cluster, geographic area or
tradelane.Leads a local sales team to ensure delivery of business
objectives andtargets.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Develops and implements tactical plans to achieve strategic
objectives, including oversight of commercial programs, marketing
plans and forecasts. - Perform analysis on new and existing markets
to determine overall profitability and potential commercial
benefits and establish acceptable guidelines. Conduct Quarterly
revisions to ensure critical commercial issues, review and address
opportunities for improvement. -
- Provides strategic leadership and direction to the team to
promote sustainability, growth, revenue, and market share, cost
effectiveness, profitability, and service for the Commercial
Business. Analyzes and evaluates the profitability of the various
plans formulated departments, including expansion, and reviews with
the Senior Vice President as it relates to areas of responsibility.
- Represents Hamburg S--d North America with customers, business
partners, industry organizations, functions and public relations.
Maintains regular communication with other carrier representatives
in the containerized shipping business.
- Develops statistical reports and performs analysis and research
associated with the preparation of contracts and bids to develop
strategies that ensure contract objectives are established and that
guidelines are followed. - - Ensures commercial policies are
clearly defined for Areas of responsibility and steers appropriate
actions throughout the year. - -
- Gathers market intelligence and marketing statistics to develop
the appropriate strategies and programs to maximize revenue and
profitability based on economic market conditions. Monitors
performance and general activity of competitors. - Participates in
the strategic planning for new services and/or changes to existing
services to ensure achievement of the most profitable mix for
business.
- Staff management including allocation of duties, identifying
performance improvement needs, training and development.
- Analyzes and Reviews Contribution Margin (profitability)
Reports which may affect business revenue and profitability.
- Interacts with overseas colleagues in various Worldwide Regions
as well as Headquarters with respect to the business.
- Utilizes Propriety Hamburg S--d systems: GLOBE (integrated IT
platform for all business functions), COMPASS (commercial and
marketing system) and FOCS (budget forecasting system).Notice to
