Job Description:
The Cruise Line Retail Manager is the primary marketing
consultant and is accountable for the development of the marketing
strategic direction and program positioning of assigned Cruise Line
Client. - The Cruise Line Retail Manager is accountable for the
development and execution of comprehensive communication and
engagement plans for both Business To Business (targeting the
cruise line internal audience) and Business To Customer (the cruise
line guest) to drive both short-term and long-term growth.
Responsible for developing marketing strategies and tactics in line
with the cruise line brand's ethos and positioning, monitoring port
and on-line competitive activity, collaborating with merchandising
team, analyzing market data, and conducting relevant market
research. Success in this role requires collaboration with
marketing, merchandising, global business strategy and information
technology departments.
What you'll be doing:
Cruise Line Brand Marketing Strategy
- Development and management of cruise line retail marketing
strategy as it relates to pre, during and post cruise
opportunities, customer acquisition, and engagement.
- Drive the development of customized content and messaging to
deliver on the identified retail marketing strategy.
- Provides feedback and insight on the performance of program
campaigns; Tracking all elements of performance for implemented
program campaigns and working across teams to optimize for best
results. (Includes new ship builds and renovations.)
- Collaborative partner and liaison between all internal
departments in ensuring integrated campaigns and cohesive
strategies.
- Responsible for the translation of key research reports and
insights about the cruise line brand as well as the cruise line
guest into strategic recommendations; collaborates with marketing
creative team for interpreting and developing messaging and content
to answer the needs and opportunities surfaced through the
insights.
- Ensures that all media plans are aligned with company values
and goals and are executed on-time and on-budget.
- Conducts research and analysis, translating campaign
performance into accountability reporting and communication to
senior management and key stakeholders. Some of these documents are
marketing briefs, competitive analyses, campaign recap decks, and
so forth.
-Creative Management:
- Conceptualize and document creative briefs and coordinate with
central marketing organization to ensure right standards of
execution that are aligned with the cruise line brand.
- Reviews and approves all branded elements for advertising and
launch materials (printed collateral, packaging, launch toolkits,
product logos, and videos.
- Coordinates approvals through cruise line marketing
departments.
- Responsible for cruise line brand adaptation; brands,
experiences, activations and events.
Operational Excellence:
- Ensures programmatic execution of touchpoints/cruise line
specifics i.e. collateral, displays, and floorplan placement.
Talent Management:
- Provides feedback and insights to District Sales Manager on
performance assessment of onboard leadership team.
- Regularly assesses engagement and recognition of their team and
takes appropriate actions. Ensures recognition programs are in
place.
- Serves as brand standards mentor to the Retail Managers and
onboard team providing feedback and
- Participates as subject matter expert including management
summits, account team group visits, and other key projects
assigned.
- Provides feedback and insights to District Sales Manager on
performance assessment of onboard leadership team.
What we're looking for:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- 10 Years of Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or any
related fiel Required
- 2 years of experience in retail, travel retail, wholesale,
hospitality, customer acquisition industries.
- Strong software skills including PowerPoint, Excel, Word,
Adobe.
- Experience in developing compelling marketing, expanding the
limits of technology to tell stories and bring innovative product
experiences to life.
- Experience translating user insights into strategies and
effective marketing campaigns, programs, and activations.
- Experience managing large scale budgets in a project of
substantial value within a business setting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Extensive direct marketing knowledge in retail, travel retail,
wholesale, hospitality, customer acquisition industries.
- Solid understanding of inhouse or external marketing agency
partners and developing creative work.
- Proficient in working with partners to create effective
marketing campaigns.
- Ability to drive consensus in cross-regional and
cross-functional teams delivering effective teamwork.
- Proven and successful track record in conceptualizing and
executing campaigns on multiple channels.
- Possess vast knowledge of the digital/social space and will be
an avid consumer of media of all kinds.
- Creative problem solver and natural entrepreneur; comfort with
risk taking and ambiguity. Has both a creative and analytical
mindset
- Outstanding project and process management skills. Ability to
effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pace
environment.

Other:Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkSome flexibility in hours
is permitted, employee must be available during the "core" work
hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday and must work 30
hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening
and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Physical Demands:Office environment with frequent sitting, walking
and standing, occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching
and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand and finger coordination
enabling use of office machinery. This position requires the
ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20
pounds. Oral and auditory enabling interpersonal communication as
well as communication automated devise such as the telephone.
