Job Description:
SMART Safety Gulf CoastGeneral Description:The objective of the
Safety Manager is to provide the effective management of SMART's
proprietary safety program and services across assigned client
accounts. The SSM ensures that all safety management activities
meet or exceed the quality standards of BOTH SMART and its client.
Additional responsibilities include providing timely information,
consistent communication and effective leadership to meet all goals
and objectives of this position and represent SMART as a
professional organization and respected safety management
company.Essential Functions:
- Plan, schedule, and control safety functions at assigned job
sites to meet/exceed client expectations.
- Control job site safety on through safety audits, training,
incident investigation and other safety services.
- Coordinate and conduct job site safety audits to assure they
are conducted, documented and reported accurately and properly.
- Respond, investigate and report any/all job site incidents and
injuries.
- Provide data for any safety reports required by client and/or
SMART.
- Maintain record keeping to accurately reporting and document
safety activities and results.
- Maintain document control to insure information is accurate and
timely and meets client safety program requirements.
- Conduct safety training to include but not limited to general
health and safety training and 'toolbox' topics.
- Ensure that safety policies and practices are followed by
client workforce.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State and Local laws
and regulations.
- Provide timely communication and accurate documentation of all
client and company activities relating the safety program
management and job responsibilities.Position Requirements
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience in Health & Safety fields
of construction, trades contracting (mechanical, electrical,
drywall, roofing, etc.), manufacturing, or other related industry.
- Technical / Undergraduate degree (preferred but not required).
- Certification in one of the following: CSP, ASP, GSP, COSS,
CHST, etc. (preferred but not required).
- Strong organizational skills, time-management and attention to
detail in maintaining accurate records of all lead
generation/development tasks and activities.
- Initiative, focus, self-motivation and positive attitude in
performing all job duties and responsibilities.
- Strong written and verbal communications.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite to include Outlook,
PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
