Manager Regional Geotechnical Services- Miami- Ft. Lauderdale-West Palm Beach
Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Terracon is growing and hiring a Regional Manager Geotechnical Services for our South Florida region! This position is for an experienced Geotechnical management professional who will be responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating construction specific Geotechnical project work for our Miami-Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach region. The successful candidate will be experienced in preparing technical documents including proposals, reports and project management experience to support existing clients and project portfolios and expand our service offerings. Additional responsibilities include: completing the project as per its contracted scope; monitor progress and performance against the project plan. Troubleshoot and recommend or resolve operational problems and minimize delays. May be responsible for resource management, project scheduling, budgets and forecasts, and working with external vendors, subcontractors or contractors. Conducts meetings and prepares reports to communicate the status of the project-to-project team and client. Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones. This position will also require the successful candidate to conduct business development activities to assist in growing the department.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

  Responsible for coordinating all Geotechnical project work and growing the South Florida region.
  
  
• 
  Responsible for preparation of proposals and cost estimates with varying degrees of complexity.
  
  
• 
  Assist other functional areas such as construction materials testing and related lab projects with geotechnical oversight.
  
  
• 
  Directs the short-range business development activities of all department personnel to ensure that adequate fees are available to support the manpower on the payroll.
  
  
• 
  Plan for and execute the recruitment, selection, training, mentoring, and development of all employees in the department.
  
  
• 
  Prepare and execute the department annual business plan.
  
  
• 
  Oversee and manage the success of the key department metrics of revenue growth, staff chargeability, project billing and collections, and project profitability.
  
  
• 
  Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk. Be familiar with what could go wrong on a project and how to protect the Company. Be familiar with company risk policies.
  
  
• 
  Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrates safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.

  Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor quality standards and practices.
  
  
  Requirements:
  
  • 
    
  • 
    Bachelor's degree in technical discipline practiced by the Firm including Engineering, 10+ years' of Geotechnical experience and 5 or more years of direct supervisory and leadership experience.

    P.E. required in the state of Florida, or the ability to obtain a P.E. License in Florida within 6-8 months.
    
    
  • 
    Previous supervisory experience.
    
    
  • 
    Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
