this tip sheet . The Department of Surgery has an exciting
opportunity for a full time Manager, Sponsored Programs position.
The incumbent oversees statistical, educational and research
activities of the division. The incumbent operates with the
objective of managing quality and outcomes data in order to promote
clinical trials/funding proposals, as well as maximizing the use
and efficacy of existing research funding dollars. Additionally,
the Manager, Sponsored Programs will oversee projects and personnel
directly supporting data extractions, statistics and quality
management team.
- Prepares monthly variance reports for programs' management and
development.
- Assists in the preparation of grant reports for senior
management.
- Maintains portfolios for private and government grants and
funds.
- Develops and maintains grant allocation systems.
- Manages monthly overhead and allocation tables and reallocates
grant funds based on period reports.
- Formulates comparative analyses of operating programs by
analyzing costs in relation to services performed during previous
fiscal years.
- Creates and oversees budget, making recommendations for budget
modifications when appropriate. Approves all disbursement requests
for accuracy in coding and availability of funds prior to
commitment of funds.
- Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the
internal controls within the unit and compliance with University
policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls
within the function and on University policy and procedures.This

- Bachelor's degree in relevant field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experienceKnowledge/Skills:
- Data Analysis

- Clinical Trials management, outcomes research and peer revise
and manuscript contributionsDepartment Specific FunctionsThe
division of Cardiac Surgery is requesting a Manager to oversee all
Cardiothoracic Surgery program, this person will:
- Serve as lead overseeing all cardiac research projects and will
manage current research associates
- Will participate in writing abstracts, manuscripts and book
chapters.
- He will be responsible to meet all the requirements and
deadlines for all presentations, Manuscripts, Journal entries
etc...
- This person will be keeping incoming data up to date on all Dr.
Lamelas surgical procedures.
- Will be responsible of current open research investigations and
will support the providers on their mission to serve as PI's
- Will contribute to the research of surgical outcomes by
analyzing data and interpreting findings.
- Will maintain a close look on the data on readmissions after
surgery for all heart failure patients
- Will Initiate, monitor and supervise all active projects
- Will verify the accuracy and consistency of all reports prior
to submission.
- Will schedule monthly meetings to inform and update the cardiac
surgery providers
- Experience on journal peer-reviews, presentations, manuscripts
