Laurie Malaga is Vice President of Integrated Production for
innovative cross-cultural agency the community. A role she has held
since 2005, Laurie's responsibilities include managing all
broadcast, digital, experiential and studio production for the
community's clients such as Constellation Brands, Converse, Beam
Suntory, Google, Time Warner Cable, MTV, RedBull, and more. As a
member of the agency's executive leadership team, she also
participates in the evolution and strategic vision of the agency.
During her time at the community, her work has been recognized with
Cannes Lions, Clios, Addy's and awards from One Show and the
Festival Iberoamericano de la Publicidad (FIAP). Just recently,
Laurie's work for Rolling Stone Argentina, the national TV campaign
"The Steves," was honored with a Silver Film Lion at the 62nd
Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity. During her tenure, the
community has also been named a Top 10 Agency on Advertising Age's
A-List in 2015 and 2013, and an Agency to Watch in 2012. The agency
was also named Multicultural Agency of the Year by Adweek in 2006,
and ranked the 13th most awarded agency in the world by Gunn
Report.
Prior to joining the community, Laurie was the Executive Producer
of the Music Video Division at Propaganda Films, leading operations
of the division including overseeing sales representatives in New
York, Los Angeles and London. While there, she worked with some of
the most esteemed directors and recording artists in the
entertainment industry including directors such as David Fincher,
Michael Bay, Jonathan Glazer, Michel Gondry and artists like
Madonna, Beck, Bjork, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, to name a few.
Laurie has also produced some notable work, including
"Southlander," feature film directed by Steve Hanft that was
recognized as a SXSW Film Finalist; "Strange Parallel," an Elliot
Smith short film directed by Steve Hanft; "Hot Irons," a
documentary directed by Andrew Dosunmu; and live music concerts for
Mariah Carey, Jon Bon Jovi, Usher and Bjork.
Laurie's work throughout her career has been recognized with
several MTV awards and have been included as part of MOMA's
permanent collection.
A seasoned production executive, Laurie's bold and never say never
attitude, in an industry famed for its male dominancy, makes her an
inspiration for employees at the community and a role model for all
women in the ad industry.
