Hanley Foundation, a West Palm Beach-based non-profit organization that aims to eliminate addiction through prevention, treatment, advocacy, and recovery support, seeks a Director of Nursing to join our dynamic team.   • Responsible for the health, safety and welfare of patients.
  • Participate in the coordination of patient care through daily involvement in treatment team meetings, case consults with medical and therapy staff, and frequent interaction with ancillary departments to enhance comprehensive patient care
  • Hire and supervise the nursing staff and the provision of nursing care in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to avoid scheduling conflicts between Administration, Clinical, and programmatic needs or requirements set forth by the Standards.
  • Participate in implementing a nursing schedule that ensures adequate nursing staff on all shifts and effectively delegate and implement patient care by creating a daily work schedule.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate nursing quality assurance activities.
  • Develop, interpret, and give feedback on relevant policies and procedures.
  • Provide initial and ongoing training for department and other staff as needed.
  • Manage/Track the budget and provide input in developing the departmental budget.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient care for ethical, legal, and safe conduct.
  • Promote individual and environmental safety.
  • Participate in the Risk Management/Performance Improvement Process by reviewing, responding timely, and resolving all medical-involved incident reports, compliance-related items, grievances, or complaints. Attend all mandatory meetings and training.
  • Determine final decisions regarding operations of the work unit.
  • Assure education is provided to patients regarding medical conditions.
  • Evaluate needs for supplies and equipment.
  • Develop service unit goals.
  • Collaborate with a variety of outside agencies to coordinate support services.
  • Report all alleged incidents of abuse or neglect by all state standards and accrediting bodies.
  • Ensure all records are accurate and are prepared in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure all records are available for all state and accrediting bodies' staff inspection.
  • Ensure that functions are met professionally and promptly.
  • Stand on-call at designated times.
  • Uphold all Hanley Foundation Health Care Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintain patient/potential patient confidentiality by Hanley Foundation's Policy.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    • Demonstrate managerial experience and competence.
    • Knowledge, experience, and competence in the specific areas of adult treatment, adult co-morbid complications, and family systems theory.
    • Ability to identify, implement, and maintain quality control policies and procedures by state standards and accrediting bodies.
    • Must be computer literate and be familiar with most Microsoft products and network components.
    • Must have fluid communication skills that foster teamwork and high morale.
    • Must set an example as a leader so that others who report to them want to follow enthusiastically.
    • Must possess a high degree of leadership skills in theory and practice.
    • Must possess a high degree of organization skills and be able to pass this information to their direct reports.
    • Must possess skills in the area of facility budgeting and forecasting.
    • Must possess skills in the area of strategic planning and implementation of such.Education/Experience/Qualifications:
      • Bachelor's degree in nursing, master's preferred
      • Maintain current Florida Nursing license from the Board of Nursing.
      • Minimum ten (10) years post-licensure experience
      • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory/managerial experience required.
      • Able to work outside standard work hours and be on-call to assist with mental health crises and other urgent patient needs.
