Aspen Medical USA is seeking qualified candidates for--Wound Care Nurse for General Surgery Clinic--to support the mission of the Indian Health Services (IHS). Service will be performed at hospitals, clinics, other locations as determined by the GSU to provide needed services to the Navajo Area Indian Health Service within the Gallup Indian Medical Center. Responsibilities:-- Assesses patients and develop plan of care for patients who present to the clinic. Screen patient and evaluate chief complaint. Initiate treatment measures based on appropriate utilization of standing orders, certifications and standards of care for the clinic. Consult with attending provider and collaborate in developing multi-disciplinary approach to provision of care.--With order/referral from Medical Provider, initiates assessment, planning and implementation of care to patients with ostomies, draining wounds, fistulas, pressure ulcers, acute and or chronic wounds. Provides comprehensive care and teaching to patients and their families regarding the evaluation, selection and recommendations of supplies and equipment in order to provide optimal wound and ostomy care. Assess and identifies the needs of each ostomy/wound patients, utilizing the following pertinent information, direct observation, examination and medical record. Provides guidance to staff to identify, control or eliminate etiologic factors for skin breakdown, including selection of appropriate support surface. Implements the nursing and medical plans of care through utilization of safe and therapeutically effective interventions.-- --Requirements:-- The candidate shall have a minimum of twenty-four (24) months working in as a Wound Care Nurse in a General Surgery patient care setting.-- All nurses shall possess a current, valid unrestricted nursing license in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States, throughout the term of this contract.-- Graduate of a Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse program that is accredited by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse Society. Will consider applicants who are in the process of completing WOCN certification.-- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Motor Vehicle Operator's License.-- The Candidate shall possess basic knowledge, skills, and abilities to use a computer.-- All medical staff providing service under this contract shall attend mandatory orientations and training specified by the Government.-- The candidate shall provide all Immunization records.-- Aspen Medical is a global provider of guaranteed, innovative and tailored healthcare solutions across a diverse range of sectors - providing from a single paramedic to a full spectrum solution.
