The University of Miami, UMH has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse in the Transfer Center department at the UTower location. The Bed Control Registered Nurse, through the use of documented medical orders/records and nursing knowledge tracks, performs and enforces all activities which involve the placement and movement of patients. He/She will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide efficient patient flow throughout the medical system. The Bed Control RN will model appropriate behavior as exemplified in University of Miami Hospital and Clinics (UMHC) Mission, Vision and Values. A BSN graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid State of Florida RN license and two (2) years of--acute care--experience. Must have current BLS and ACLS certification. Prior experience in utilization management, care coordination, patient access services, bed control, care facilitation and/or discharge planning preferred. Any combination of relevant education, work experience, and/or certifications will be considered.
