Qualifications

We're drawn to smart, motivated, hard-working individuals who want to develop their craft and professional careers while serving our customers' news and information needs at the high level they've come to expect. We value creativity, innovation and outside-the-box thinking in addition to nose-to-the-grindstone focus and technical finesse.

Our ideal applicant is a journalist with experience covering the OTC drug and/or dietary supplement sectors, or other industries regulated by the US Food and Drug Administration or counterpart agencies around the world. If that isn't you exactly, tell us how your skills and experience would translate to the role.

We're looking for candidates who are comfortable covering events (including in-person meetings that may require travel), interviewing senior sources, and writing engaging content under tight deadlines. Those with demonstrated ability to extract key messages from complex information - including technical regulatory subject matter - and communicate those effectively to a specialized audience will have an advantage.

The job demands that candidates have strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and the capacity to juggle multiple assignments at once. We want self-starters who can work effectively independently but also are team players willing and eager to collaborate and be coached.

A degree in journalism, sciences, or equivalent career experience would be appropriate.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, content management systems, and infographic tools a decided plus.
