UHealth in Miami, Florida is seeking several qualified Medical
Assistants 1-2-3. The Medical Assistant assists in the examination
and treatment of patients, under the direction of a physician.
Moreover, the incumbent interviews patients, measures vital signs,
and records information on patients' charts. The Medical Assistant
also draws and collects blood samples from patients and prepares
specimens for laboratory analysis. This is an onsite job in Miami,
FL. Shifts varies. These positions are eligible for sign on
bonus.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Gives injections and treatments and performs routine laboratory
tests.
Assists in patient care activities such as dressing changes and leg
wraps.
Prepares treatment room for examination of patient.
Assists with physical examinations by preparing supplies and
handing instruments and materials to the doctor as directed.
Provides patients with basic instruction and information regarding
examination procedures.
Cleans and sterilizes medical instruments while observing
principles of sterile technique.
Schedules patients for tests and completes required forms for
laboratory work.
Maintains accurate and complete patient records and
documentation.
Orders, stocks, and inventories supplies, and assists in performing
clerical duties.
Escorts and transports patients to various hospital locations.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and
safeguards University assets.

Qualifications for MA 1, MA2, and MA3
Medical Assistant 1- (MA1)
High school diploma or equivalent Graduate from an approved Medical
Assistant educational program recognized by the U.S. Department of
Education (USDE). Active - American Heart Association (AHA) Basic
Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers HIV certification
required . No previous experience required.
Medical Assistant 2- (MA2)
High school diploma or equivalent Graduate from an approved Medical
Assistant educational program recognized by the U.S. Department of
Education (USDE). Active - National or Statewide Certifications
(See Table 1) Minimum of 2 years previous experience Active -
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for
healthcare providers Specialty Certification relevant to present
position . HIV certification required
Medical Assistant 3- (MA3)
High school diploma or equivalent Graduate from an approved Medical
Assistant educational program recognized by the U.S. Department of
Education (USDE). Active - National or Statewide Certifications
(See Table 1) Minimum of 4 years previous experience Active -
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for
healthcare providers Specialty Certification relevant to present
position . HIV certification required
Candidates must obtain their National certification no more than 12
months from date of hire
