Job Summary
The Massage Therapist is responsible for, but not limited to,
performing as trained all spa massage and body treatments to guests
in a professional and pleasant fashion.
Essential Job Functions
- Comprehends and abides by Carillon Miami Wellness Resort
policies and procedures.
- Consistently clocks in and out as required by policy.
- Provides guests with a thorough and knowledgeable professional
massage or body treatment.
- Provides on-site or off site chair massage.
- Demonstrates respect, sensitivity, and concern for guests'
needs with a professional and pleasant manner.
- Practices universal health care protocol while dealing with
guests and coworkers.
- Is present for schedule and works any hours that are
booked.
- Begins and ends massage and body services as scheduled.
- Must be flexible with the ability to work evenings, weekends
and holidays
- Required to wear Uniform and applicable Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE) such as Face Shield, Facemask, Gloves and Apron.
Additional Duties
- Complies with Spa Department policies and operational
procedures.
- Sets up and breaks down assigned treatment room, and maintains
neat and well-stocked room, before, after and throughout
shift.
- Completes and submits necessary paperwork, checks mailbox, and
reads posted notices on bulletin board.
- Attends daily line-ups, weekly, and monthly departmental
meetings.
- Will be expected to assist and perform various demonstrations,
lectures and events.
- Interacts cooperatively and with consideration towards guests
and co-workers.
- To be adaptable and accountable for all actions.
- Must attend all training courses as deemed necessary, must
adhere to training as set by Director of Spa. Participates in
continuing education, and attends all training scheduled in order
to perform treatments.
- Performs other job-related duties as directed including
assisting in all areas of the spa as and when necessary. E.G.
Relaxation area and Reception.
- Adheres to Carillon Miami Wellness Resort's standards for guest
service.
- Reports dysfunctional equipment to Spa Treatment Manager.
- To maintain inventory of supplies for the operation of the
treatment rooms.
- Refers guest problems or complaints to supervisor according to
Carillon Miami Wellness Resort Guest Problem Resolution
Policy.
- Conforms to all regulations pertaining to HIPPA.
- Develops strong base of return guests.
- Understands and supports all Carillon Miami Wellness Resort
services and cross-refers to other Carillon Miami Wellness Resort
providers when appropriate.
- To recognize the importance of "sales" in every aspect of the
role and responsible for achieving sales targets as set by the Spa
Treatment Manager.
- Arrives 15 minutes before the start of shift to allow
sufficient time to prepare for workday.
- Maintains current professional licenses. Education, Experience
and Skill Requirements
- Must possess a minimum of 500 hours of massage training from an
AMTA accredited/approved massage school. Current Massage Therapist
license issued by the State of Florida.
- Must possess a cooperative and positive attitude, exercising
reason.
- Must be on schedule a minimum of 3 hours per day with a maximum
of 5 hours in a row without a break (at discretion of
administrator).
- Must be able to interact professionally and with sensitivity to
the needs of the guests and co-workers.
- Must be dependable and able to adjust to schedule changes,
including cancellations and additions.
- Neuromuscular Certification preferred.
- Certifications in additional therapeutic modalities
preferred.
- Excellent communication skills - English language skills
required.
- Trained in the use of SOAP notes.
- 2 years luxury spa experience preferred.
- Experience with Hydrotherapy and Body treatments
preferred.
