Apply today for our Labor and Delivery RN opening and continue to learn!Job Summary and QualificationsThe Labor & Delivery RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The L&D RN will treat expecting mothers providing support before, during and after labor. -In addition, the registered professional nurse is responsible for the direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering said patient care.What you Will Do in this Role:
  • -Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation -
  • Advocate for patients as part of the interdisciplinary team -
  • Analyze the assessment data to determine the diagnosis or issues -
  • Evaluates the obstetrical patient for any situation that may compromise the well-being of mother and fetus -
  • Participate in routine delivery as well as planned or emergent Cesarean Sections -
  • Act as an advocate for patient safety -
  • Ensure effective care and use of time, supplies, and equipment -
  • Educate patients regarding their medications ,procedure and treatments, providing patients and their families with support throughout their stay -What qualifications you will need:
    • Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Florida, or
    • Recognized compact licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provision) -
    • Graduate from a professional accredited school of nursing preferred -
    • Current BLS & ACLS Certifications (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) -
    • NRP & AWHONN Certifications (30 Day Grace Period) -
    • 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
    • Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within30 days of employment start dateHCA Florida Mercy Hospital is a 488-bed facility.
