Job Summary and Qualifications The Surgical Services Manager is responsible, in cooperation with the Surgical Services Director, for the planning, implementation and coordination of all daily operations within the Pre-Operative, Operating Room, Endoscopy, Anesthesia and Recovery Department. This responsibility includes, but is not exclusive to, directing and supervising the personnel and delivery of care within these departments, managing and coordinating administrative issues within the respective departments and the progression of the surgical patients throughout the day, and acting as liaison between the department’s staff, the physicians, and the Surgical Services Director. Responsible for quality improvement, productivity, and patient/physician satisfaction goals and objectives established by upper management the individual in this position must be an exemplary nurse who is able to provide the safest, most effective nursing care to all surgical patients utilizing the nursing process What qualifications you will need: - Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions) - Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing - Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date - Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date - Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care Hospital setting - Minimum 1 year of experience as a full time Charge Nurse/ Coordinator, Nursing Administrative Supervisor, or Nursing Management in an acute care Hospital setting HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is a 488-bed facility. We are accredited by the Joint Commission and offer a wide range of medical specialties. These specialties include emergency care, heart, and vascular care. We are designated by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center. Other specialties include maternity and neonatal care. We are a Level II NICU hospital.
