SUMMARY
Location: Island Hospitality Management Corporate Office
Position Type: Management
The starting pay rate for this position is $60,000 annually.
Island Hospitality Management is actively seeking a Human Resources
Manager with immigration experience to join our rapidly growing
team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record as
an HR generalist with working knowledge of the J-1, and H2-B
program rules, as this role is heavily immigration focused and
assists foreign nationals with immigration procedures.
This position may require flexible scheduling availability.
Job Requirements:
-Onboard new employees by completing the I9 verification process
and orientate them with organization-wide tools
-Manage end-to-end HR activities (Talent, Payroll, Benefits, etc.)
for select property employees
-Coordinate with external immigration partners on
immigration-related matters
-Coordinate summer/seasonal hiring of international employees to
augment staffing needs
-Assist with maintaining HR-related materials, ensuring that
documentation, policies & handbooks are kept consistently up to
date with company processes & mandatory policies
-Plan and manage offsite team meetings, and engagement
activities
-Ensure all procedures comply with legal requirements and best
practices
-Prepare management reports using business metrics and KPIs
-Partner with employees and management to communicate various Human
Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government
regulations
-Respond to employee relation issues
-Facilitates and/or provides training (including orientation) to
the workforce
-Review and approve terminations, as applicable
Job Qualifications:
-Well-organized with excellent leadership qualities
-Experience working with HRIS and payroll software systems
-Ability to manage competing priorities (switching between
administrative, people-oriented, and creative tasks)
-Clear and effective communicator (written and verbal) with strong
interpersonal skills
-Experience maintaining and auditing HR immigration, employee
database systems, and personnel files
-Deep knowledge of HR functions
-Ability to use metrics and analytics
-Knowledge of local and international labor law
-Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
-Ability to objectively coach employees and management through
complex, difficult, and emotional issues
-Strong control and follow-up skills
-Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
-BSc/BA in business, HR, social sciences, or related field;
MSc/MA/MBA is preferable
-Certification (e.g. PHR/SPHR) is strongly preferred
-Ability to travel up to 25% of the schedule
