Career Service RepresentativeCBT Technology Institute is looking
for a Career Service Representative to join their growing team at
Miami, Florida (33144)Job Description:Meet the employment and
salary goals of graduates assigned. Develop employment
opportunities for graduates through various and well-established
techniques. Maintain detailed employment information and file
maintenance on graduates. Incumbent must assure that the CBT
philosophy: quality services to clients; development, growth,
involvement and recognition of employees; sound economic
principles; and an environment, which is conducive to innovation,
positive thinking and expansion - is considered in carrying out the
duties and responsibilities of this positionDuties and
Responsibilities:Core duties and responsibilities include the
following. Other duties may be assigned by management The following
duties are customary for this position but are not to be construed
as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based
on management discretion and institutional needs. Establishes a
relationship with students at Orientation.Maintains constant
contact, and working relationship throughout the student's
term.Assists in coordinating events such as Open House, Career Day,
on site recruitment events, etc. to build upon awareness.Actively
participation in the organization and execution of Graduations
ceremonies. Schedules, conducts, and documents an exit interview
with each pending graduate assigned. Serves as advocate for
students/graduates in the job search process, including resume
building and salary negotiation. Develop, track, report and
document graduate employment program, graduate files of employment,
and success stories. Plans and conducts marketing calls and direct
mail marketing follow-up with possible employers. Educates
employers on curriculum and competitive compensation. Plans and
conducts employer visits and on-campus recruiting. Actively and
routinely seeks employer feedback and researches industry trends.
Shares this information when appropriate within the school to aid
in the development/enhancement of curriculum and successful
outcomes for graduates. Works closely with lead faculty to
contribute to course content and coach graduates and students on
career search strategies, personal marketing, interview skills,
self-promotion methods and materials. Develops partnership with
employers to maximize 3 months prior to graduation any
field-related opportunities for students. Organize/Planning
Occupational Advisory Committee Meetings alongside Compliance and
Academics Dept. (OAC).Cooperates with Curriculum Development
Committee (CDC).Updates job information on database.Manage the
operational aspects of job postings.Responsible for Work Study
(Knowledge Policies and Procedures for Federal Work Studies)Meet
with students 90 days prior graduation date and follow-up of the
students who graduate. Updates graduate file to reflect the
student's job history. Contact and bring employers, propose Tech
Troopers Services.Maintain all job postings to date and inform
students. Compile data and supporting documentation for
accreditation.Ensure to stay abreast of all accreditation
standards.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker
Characteristics:Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with both faculty and student
population. Superior organizational and problem resolution skills.
Strong basic computer software (MS Office) skills. Knowledge of
computer and office software applications.Demonstrates the
abilities and knowledge to work as a team player with a positive
approach.Ability to prioritize work, organize materials, task, and
the capability to meet deadlines.Ability to interact effectively as
a member of a team and work collaboratively with other departments.
Ability to listen to customers (e.g. students, staff, etc.) and to
understand and respond positively to their requests. Ability to
work without close supervision and to set ones' own priorities and
work schedule. Ability to work effectively under pressure and to
meet frequently occurring deadlines. Ability to conduct business
with attention to ethical considerations, employment law and
school/accreditation guidelines. Basic counseling/guide and
teaching skills assist the placement officer in interacting with
students and alumni in job search techniques both in person and at
a distance.Follow through to completion of assigned tasks.
Knowledge on CBT Technology Institute Catalog.Interpersonal skills
and ability to build and foster relationships. Ability to work with
a diverse student population. Knowledge of interviewing
techniques/interviewing skills and related career and job search
skills. Education: Minimum Qualifications: Two or more years of
experience in placement/search firm, career counseling or
industry-related position, and at least one year experience in a
marketing or field-related environment. Work Environment: Office
level: The individual will be required to work in an office level
setting with frequent interruptions and changes in the
workflow/volume depending on the time of day and/or time in the
term Physical Demands:The employee may frequently lift and/or move
up to 25lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include
close vision, distance vision, precise hand-eye coordination, and
the ability to identify and distinguish colors. While performing
the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit
for extended periods while working at a computer terminal and/or
using a telephone. Learned physical skill is required to perform
keyboarding and/or ten-key functions, as well as, use repetitive
wrist, hand, and/or finger movement, reach with hands and arms, and
talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and
walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel,
crouch, and crawl. Travel Requirement: Limited: Travel to different
campuses, company events and/or trainings as required.Cultural
