Senior Ruby on Rails Developer, Midtown Manhattan Based Organization (100% REMOTE)
- (Long Term Consulting Position, 1 year +)
- Our client a phenomenal education organization based in Midtown Manhattan, is searching for a hands-on, experienced Developer who is highly proficient in Ruby Development, with a demonstrated proficiency in API integration best practices and collaborative software development procedures. - Qualifications / Experience

• 4-10+ years of professional development experience with a willingness to learn new programming languages in a highly collaborative environment.
• Demonstrated experience with application development using Ruby, Node.js, AWS, CI, OAuth, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Demonstrated experience with full application lifecycle including prototyping, testing, development, review, deploying, and monitoring
• Experience working w/ modern development tooling such as Git, Github, Docker, bash, AWS, Travis CI, etc.
• Experience working w/ numerous client-side development technologies, including HTML5, CSS, and various JavaScript (AJAX, JSON, JQUERY, Node.js, React)
• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills - Responsibilities -
  • Building scalable and reliable product features
  • Participating in the product vision and roadmap decision process
  • Identifying and resolving complex production issues
  • Conducting design and code reviews
  • Testing code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and reliability
  • Maintaining current knowledge of the latest development tools and techniques - Additional Skills / Attributes -
    • Prior SaaS or API development experience
    • Comfortable with the full development stack, from HTML to DevOps
    • Solid grasp of fundamental Computer Science concepts
    • Experience with high-throughput, high-availability systems
    • Familiarity with Application Performance Monitoring tools
    • Familiarity with cloud hosting providers (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.)
    • Experience with React and modern JavaScript build and testing tools
