work.(sm) Join the Core Eligibility team as a Backend Software
Engineer. The team is responsible for building an eligibility and
identity platform that powers all product lines of Optum Digital.
The eligibility platform helps resolve user identity based on
healthcare data and brings a consistent user experience regardless
of the products. You will partner with product managers and other
engineers to build a world-class, cloud-native eligibility platform
using Scala, Play, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, and more. You
will be involved in every step of the software development cycle.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Architect and develop scalable authorization and eligibility
solutions for both web and mobile applications
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle,
including development, code reviews, testing and monitoring
- Develop APIs and microservices primarily in Scala
- Build scalable systems, libraries, and frameworks
- Develop database models using appropriate database
technologies, including PostgreSQL and MongoDB
- Manage code changes using Git and GitHub
- Support production by systematically debugging, mitigating, and
implementing a long-term solutions You'll be rewarded and

succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles
you may be interested in. Required Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical
field
- 1+ years of experience with Scala, Java, C# or other compiled
languages
- 1+ years of experience with building backend systems for web or
mobile
- 1+ years of experience with relational or NoSQL database
concepts
- Exposure to cloud-based services and hosting (AWS and/or Azure)
Preferred Qualifications: -
- Experience with microservice architecture and paradigms

Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100
to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is
$72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but
not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In
