Network Engineering team. -This position will be an integral part
of our Network Operations team, which maintains the enterprise
network infrastructure that supports NextEra Energy and its
subsidiaries - Florida Power & Light (FPL) and Nextera Energy
Resources (NEER) and Nextera Energy Transmission (NEET).If you
understand the importance of fiber light levels, can read an OTDR
and packet capture, enjoy being technically challenged and have
experience using products from Nokia, Ciena, Fujitsu, Cisco with a
deep understanding of optical, transport and MPLS networking you
may be the perfect fit for our team. The position reports directly
to the IT Technology Manager within the Infrastructure Operations
Center (IOC) as a Fiber Network Service Delivery Leader (SDL). In
this position you will work with some of the brightest minds in the
clean energy and utility industry as they work to ensure NextEra is
the largest and most capable clean energy provider in North America
and the best electric utility in the world.
This role is responsible for assisting with the design and leading
the IOC team for the operational support of our fiber optic network
and all it's support processes, maintenance and documentation of
our enterprise dark fiber optical transport network infrastructure
to meet deliverables of our day-to-day network operational
activities. You will be engaged with other internal SDLs within a
Fusion Center environment at times for network outages related to
fiber transport. The leader in this role work directly will work
with management, project managers, Power Delivery, and business to
ensure that projects are successfully delivered and turned over to
the IOC in 100% operational status to maintain. In addition, they
act as an escalation point for issues that are encountered in our
24x7x365 environment to ensure the availability and performance of
our systems is maintained. This leader will be repsonbile for our
Circuit inventory, Nokia NSP, OSPInsight and all IOC fiber optic
processes that will need to be delveloped and ensure that all
documentation is accurate and up to date and our infrastructure
remains secure at all times. Must be able to communicate and
provide support staff training where required. This role requires a
specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise that can interpret
internal or external business IT issues and recommend best
practices to resolve complex problems and fiber cuts and outages
with various vendors and carriers.This role will help lead a team
of level 2 and level 3 network operations engineers into the future
of our fiber optics transport support providing critical network
transport services and maintain optimal availability with detailed
documentation. Some travel will be required and to produce
performance and compliance reports, will participates in the change
management processes, ensures that our network documentation is up
to date and accurate and continuously improves the monitoring
capabilities of our systems.
