We are seeking a Technical Maritime Standards Sr. Director to lead the Fleet Chief Engineers to ensure continuous improvement in all aspects of technical operations across all nine brands, and drive shipboard Technical Operational Excellence with the correct implementation of policy, safety culture and the advancement of professional maritime standards. Additionally, this position will develop recommendations and strategic direction on technical standards throughout the organization. Supports all Brand management and Corporate Departments in Technical matters, additionally leads projects and other technical initiatives. Effective communication and stakeholder collaboration both onboard and ashore is paramount.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead Fleet Chief Engineers to provide leadership, mentoring and support to the corporations Chief Engineers and Technical teams
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to advance Technical operating practices, procedures and standards
  • Drive Technical operations, ERM / KPI's and Best Practice initiatives
  • Monitor ERM and Technical Standards, advise Vice President Maritime Standards of significant deviations and provide recommended approaches and/or modifications
  • Progress HESS objectives and development of Safety Culture across all brands
  • Lead Maritime Standards Technical projects
  • Be a mentor to others, and promote the industry at events
  • Support Vice President as required
  • Attend forums; EG: IMO, Technical Groups
  • Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor's degree in Technical Operations
    • Chief Engineer STCW Certificate of Competency
    • Minimum 3 years as Chief Engineer of Cruise-ships or similar experience
    • Microsoft: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint
    • Shore Technical Ops or Fleet Chief Engineer
    • This position requires the highest level of attention to detail, strong management and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
    • Extensive knowledge in Technical Operations, leadership, Management systems
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills #LI-SC1

      The range for this role's base salary is $172,000 - $185,000. Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.
