Job Title:
Attorney - AVP, Privacy Lawyer and Privacy Program Manager
The Blackstone Legal & Compliance department seeks an attorney to
support Blackstone's privacy, data protection and security
programs, and to address privacy regulatory and legal issues
arising from Blackstone's procurement, human resources and
employment, marketing, and charitable foundation activities. The
role will focus on assisting existing team members across multiple
corporate and business groups and supporting privacy and data
protection compliance programs associated with enterprise corporate
compliance.
Primary job responsibilities include:
The attorney would be part of a dedicated privacy team within
Blackstone and be the principal point of contact for corporate
privacy matters and privacy program management, including
responding to data subject requests. Primary job responsibilities
include:
Provide broad support for the corporate departments within
Blackstone, including Procurement, Human Resources and Benefits,
Public Affairs and Marketing, Strategic Incentives Group, Corporate
Global Services, and Charitable Foundation with applicable laws and
regulations (with particular focus on the Americas, the U.K, and
European Union)
Serve as the primary contact for all corporate marketing
activities, including website and cookie compliance, compliance
with CAN-SPAM and the ePrivacy Directive, and as the primary
contact for privacy-related questions within talent recruitment and
management initiatives
Assist with corporate initiatives relating to the collection and
processing of personal data and reporting activities
Supports the Data Policy and Strategy Officer and the supervises
the privacy operations team in executing the global privacy program
in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and its internal
policies
Collaborates with stakeholders, Blackstone IT, information security
and other teams to incorporate and document privacy-by-design
approach into personal data processing
Maintain privacy and data protection compliance policies, processes
and standards, including maintenance of records of processing
activities and program metrics and reporting
Assist in assessing current and future applicable legal and
compliance developments and communicating these updates to legal,
compliance and business personnel
Prepare and conduct training regarding legal and compliance issues
related to privacy, data protection, and digital marketing.
Work collaboratively and productively with lawyers, compliance
professionals and business professionals within Blackstone and
externally to achieve successful outcomes
Assist with other day-to-day privacy, data protection and related
subject area legal and compliance matters and processes as
needed
Qualifications:
Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated,
intelligent, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.
The successful candidate should have:
An attorney with 4+ years of experience at a law firm and/or as a
compliance professional
Knowledge of global data privacy regimes including GLBA, FCRA, CCPA
and GDPR;
Knowledge of digital marketing and digital platform laws, including
CAN-SPAM and the ePrivacy Directive;
CIPP and/or CIPM designation preferred;
Understanding of IT systems and their collection to data collection
and processing, and data mapping skills preferred;
Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced environment related to a
growing and global business;
Critical attention to detail and analytical skills;
Strong drafting and organizational skills;
Ability to communicate confidently and effectively;
Ability to work independently while remaining a strong team
player;
Sharp intellect and ability to understand difficult, complex
compliance and business issues; and
High initiative, creativity and drive

Expected annual base salary range:
$110,000 - $150,000 Actual base salary within that range will be
determined by several components including but not limited to the
individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location.
For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted
salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation
process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms
of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the
advertised role.
