• Expected to read, analyze and interpret general professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
• Expected to have high mathematical skills.
• Expected to have advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Expected to perform cellular evaluations following BRCH procedures and policies.
• Expected to document and report data accurately and cognitively.
• Expected to perform routine and corrective maintenance on equipment.
• Expected to complete Quality Control and Quality Assurance requirements of the section.
• Expected to meet evaluation standards as required by section and department.
• Expected to accommodate scheduling requirements.
• Expected to work safely and neatly in an organized manner.
• Expected to assist in the departmental orientation of new employees.
• Expected to perform preparation techniques as needed.
• Expected to assist Pathologist during Fine Needle Aspiration Procedures.
• Expected to maintain inventory.
• Expected to address workflow needs of multiple laboratory departments.
• Expected to be assigned to projects as determined by laboratory administration.
• Expected to assist Supervisor in preparation for JC and CAP.
• Expected to assume responsibility for the department/section/shift in the absence of the Supervisor.
• Expected to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, customers and the general public.
• Expected to communicate in both verbal and written English.Minimum Education and/or Experience Required:
  • CT(ASCP)- with 5 year experience and/or training
  • Must meet minimum experience requirements to be eligible for the sign-on bonus.
  • Non-GYN/GYN/FNA experienceLicensure/Regulation/Certification:
    • Florida State Licensure as a Cytology Technologist. *Incumbent may be required to perform emergency duty before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency, crisis situation or disaster (man-made or natural) including evacuation sites. *The person in this position will work in a smoke-free location, and is expected to adhere to all smoking restrictions. *In the spirit of wellness for both our employees and patients, Boca Raton Regional Hospital has instituted a mandatory influenza prevention vaccination program. Current employees must receive the influenza prevention vaccination free of charge during the recognized flu season.
