Job Description:

We offer unique solutions such as security, innovation, and economy for small to medium merchants.  As our Chief Credit Officer for Digital Banking, you are responsible for providing policies, procedures, risk information, support, and direction, to ensure the overall quality of the bank's Digital Credit Portfolio, and to support business growth in the Fintech digital lending space, with focus in merchant acquiring and business credit solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with credit products and technology teams at affiliate Fintechs to build policy frameworks for digital lending. Propose, draft and finish credit policies and framework covering merchant acquiring, commercial credit cards, leasing and lending for businesses

Participate in the digital lending credit committee. Ensure compliance with committee charters and credit policies and procedures. Oversee the production and maintenance of the portfolio review reports for committees and bank regulators

Responsible for the credit policies and its compliance with the applicable regulations and laws, credit risk, product and card program management. Ensure that business development and relationship management groups understand and develop credit strategy in accordance with the bank’s credit guidelines

Work with credit committee on the determination of overall digital bank credit portfolio composition and the management of risk concentrations. Manage the independent periodic reviews of credit risk levels and risk management processes

Ensure that portfolio is appropriately risk-rated, and adequately reserved. Direct the loan work-out/special assets process; reduce credit and collections/nonperforming loan levels

Manage the predictive score model governance process with internal and external subject matter experts to periodically evaluate and validate all predictive models used by company for lending

Work with compliance officer to develop proper credit disclosures and regulatory requirements in offering credit. Perform other duties as assigned

Skills, Abilities & Education:

Strong leadership skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced and busy start-up environment and 10+ years relevant work experience with demonstrated track record of merchant acquiring, commercial lending, credit cards, and leasing credit risk inside an US bank. An MBA in Business Management desired or an advanced degree in business/finance/economics concentration

Experience lending, risks and leadership skills to drive proper balancing of credit risk and business developing. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, team and communication skills

Knowledge of banking regulations and regulatory reporting and disclosures (OCC, FDIC, etc). Sound working knowledge of the overall operations of the loan/credit departments heavily based on technology and automation

Ability to establish credibility and rapport; knowledgeable and personable looking for ways to improve the operations of the credit origination and risk management. Able to communicate and function professionally with all levels of personnel and business partners across the organization

Excellent customer contact skills; comfortable asking questions/interviewing customers about their financial situation and strong listening skills. Deep understanding of how to present features and benefits of product and services to customers with differing needs

Must stay current on operational, product, and system changes/enhancements, as well as demonstrate good risk management decisions. Able to take “full ownership” of issues until they are completely resolved

Required experience related to providing underwriting standards to Fintech companies originating credit products. Regulatory remediation experience and ability to communicate effectively with bank regulators

Full command and proficiency Microsoft Office Suite and advanced Excel skills. Proven analytical, problem solving skills and time management skills
