THERAPIST, OCCUPATIONAL (PERDIEM) - Miami, FLDescription
Summary & ObjectiveTherapist, Occupational treat injured, ill, or disabled patients and/or residents through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. They help patients and/or residents develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working.Essential Functions

• Perform initial and ongoing occupational therapy evaluations according to standards of practice as well as state standards.
• Develop plan of care for each patient and/or resident based on initial and ongoing evaluations including short and long term goals in collaboration of other clinical personnel and required patient and caregiver involvement.
• Completes scheduled patient and/or resident load.
• Completes or provides necessary MDS and Care Plan documentation specific to Occupational Therapy.
• Completes all necessary documentation in a timely manner.*Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.Other Duties
  • Report patient and/or residents progress and/or changes to other clinical personnel involved in ongoing treatment/care of patients.
  • Provides orientation to new employees as needed.
  • Maintains flexibility in assignment changes due to census fluctuation.
  • Maintain your required license, certifications and mandatory skill updates.
  • Comply with all policies, local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Floats to other units as assigned to meet patient and/or resident care needs.
  • Perform other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibility
    • May serve as an interim department leader depending on needPhysical Requirements

        Requirements
        Knowledge & Experience Requirements
        • Clear and Active Occupational Therapy license to practice in the state of Florida
        • CPR certification
        • BS, Master's Degree or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy from a occupational therapy program approved by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE)
        • Must be registered by NBCOT as designated by the initials O.T.R.
        • 2 years clinical experience preferred
        • Computer skills sufficient to properly document services and care
        • Must be able to read, write and understand the English language
