This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends. All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of the staff including but not limited to staff interviews, performance management, goal setting, coaching and administrating annual performance reviews
  • Approves staff payroll and ensures all daily staffing minimums are met while evaluating the need for overtime approval based on work load
  • Monitoring and reporting on all activities regarding daily, weekly, monthly and yearly performance metrics
  • Ensures adherence to all organization and department policies and procedures
  • Delegating work to the staff in partnership with the Senior Claims Coordinator role
  • Identify, escalate and collaborate with the Business Process Team in order to identify and implement process improvements needs
  • Implement and promote employee recognition activities and programs
  • Be able to strategize and apply critical thinking in ensuring claims inventory is worked timely, accurately and efficiently
  • Be able to effectively apply communication skills: listening to ideas, speaking up with concerns or requesting clarification, seeking input from others and providing impactful feedback and coaching that provides improved results.
  • Appropriately voice concerns on behalf of employees and/or assigned business
  • Identify and implement training and quality assurance programs needs
  • Facilitate troubleshooting on escalated service issues as needed -working with Senior and L2 levels
  • All other duties as assigned You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications:
    • Associate's Degree (or higher) and/or minimum of 5 years of work experience in claims
    • 2+ years of work experience in a leadership position
    • Proficiency in operating computers applications
    • Experience in medical billing, coding, and claim insurance
    • Ability to work an 8 hour shift between 8:00am - 5:00pm including the flexibility to work occasional overtime per business need Preferred Qualifications:
      • Strong ability in the MS Office Suite (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point).
      • Ability to coach and mentor staff Telecommuting Requirements:
        • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
        • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
        • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service Soft Skills:

          • Must be able to maintain professionalism and a positive attitude at all times.

SM Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada or New York City Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $54,400 - $97,000. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada / New York City residents is $60,000 - $106,700.
