What you'll do: You will be responsible for providing operational leadership and thought leadership to a broad range of IT disciplines including system performance and resiliency, network performance, security administration, and operations in physical/virtual and Cloud Windows and Linux environments. Installs new, or rebuilds existing, servers and configures hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.Troubleshooting as required, leading problem-solving efforts with outside vendors, other technical personnel and/or organizations. Support customer applications hosted in company's Cloud environments , on-prem application environments at customer site, VA and to provide on-call rotation for the assigned product/customer environmentsProject management functions including managing the installation of new systems, applications and other special projects for the IT Department.Daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. Security monitoring, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing.The preceding functions are examples of the work performed by employees assigned to this job classification. Requirements and Responsibilities:Possesses a comprehensive working knowledge of Linux operating system, especially process and system monitoring facilities.Fluency in at least one scripting language, shell scripting, and experience with object-oriented programming languages.Strong WAN and LAN configuration and troubleshooting skills.Exhibits mature organization and time management skills.
