Job Description:

BHI Energy has a 1+ year contract assignment for a Construction Manager for a Wind Farm project. Responsibilities are;* Perform required Quality Assurance (QA) documentation for electrical work per scope of work* Identify and record any deficiencies and/or risks (design, quality, schedule, work)* Coordinate & monitor electrical contractor's work* Coordinate & monitor all electrical and ground testing* Monitor the implementation of the electrical and collector system work at the site including all health, safety and environmental management obligations and systems* Monitor/audit contractor's quality and safety programs* Responsible for overseeing the installation and commissioning progress, and the energization of the 34.5/161 Kv Substation and POI Switchyard at Heartland, including control, protection and communications/SCADA systems* Oversee electrical and C&I aspects (including SCADA systems) of the commissioning of the wind turbines* Oversee installation progress of the dynamic reactive power compensation equipment (capacitor installation)* Verify on-site handovers, and witness site performance tests to verify conformance with the EPC Contracts* Develop & oversee site lock-out/tag-out procedures and tasks* Assist with the development of the construction process sheet in coordination with electrical contractors* Oversee the installation of mobile telephone and internet communications systems around the site and in the village* Ensure electrical contractors comply with all project requirements and review/accept contractor work and documentation* Ensure that project documentation is compliant with standards and specifications* Assist Senior Project Manager with managing the various project interfaces* Monitor and confirm EPC contractors' electrical work progress and adherence to their respective contracts. Monitor contractor work progress and performance.* Provide Senior Project Manager with support to include the reporting of electrical work progress, extension requests for time and/or cost increases, and elevating on-site quality issues. Evaluate & assess all scope change claims for validity.* Confirm that specific quality assurance and quality control checks are undertaken during the construction of the overall collector system electrical work* Oversee and control balance of plant work installation in anticipation of the delivery of wind turbines and other equipment* Interface with utilities* Ensure permits and licenses are retained and planning conditions observed* Liaise with landowners* Liaise with Ops team* Attend a daily POD meeting* Comply with all Jobsite RulesQualifications:* Owners' engineer or principal contractor experience* A strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in wind farm constructionExperience:* Experience overseeing the construction programs and interfacing with the activities of several contractors* Experience in power generation and transmission, high voltage lines, switchgear, and substations at 34.5/161 Kv, transformers, telecommunications, control systems experience (PLC's, SCADA), grounding grids and protective equipment* Solid technical knowledge in HV/MV electrical engineering coupled with demonstrated implementation experienceRequirements:* 10 to 15 years of field engineering experience in construction or maintenance, preferably in remote locations* 10 to 15 years site based erection and commissioning experience is required* A strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in wind farm Substation construction* Uncompromising focus on safety* Proven leadership abilities with strong focus on team-building and stakeholder management* Accountable decision maker* Ability to manage technical and commercial matters* Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy* Understanding of contracts, schedules, documentation management* Ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and interface and prioritize accordinglyAbout BHI EnergyBHI Energy is a broad umbrella organization with a complete service offering that covers all facets of Power Generation through the entire Electrical Delivery system.
