Job Description:

JOB This position is responsible for advanced inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various types of equipment to prolong the serviceable life of all equipment. This position reports to the Wastewater Operation Manager. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES (These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.)Repairs or replaces pumps, motors, gearboxes, blowers, belt presses, and other equipment Prepares maintenance schedules for equipment, vehicles, and facilities Performs advanced repairs on: turbine pumps, electrical motors and panels, centrifugal pumps, and chemical feed systems Performs sophisticated electrical troubleshooting and repairs including wiring single/three phase motorsCompletes all work order paperwork Maintains vehicle inventory Prepares pipe and fabricated supportsPerforms maintenance requiring metal cutting (oxygen/acetylene) such as welding, brazing, and solderingCleans shop area as assigned Conducts routine equipment maintenance tests Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions Other duties may be assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent and 2-3 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of stand practice in maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical components. Extensive knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems. Previous water or wastewater treatment experience is desirable. Willing to work all shifts including: weekends, holidays, evenings, and 24-hour emergency on call Valid driver's license. CDL required. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands tohandle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and taste or smell. Theemployee frequently is required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Theemployee is occasionally required to stand and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanicalparts and in outside weather conditions and may be regularly exposed to fumes or chemicals.Some tasks may require exposure to dust and pollen. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but at times may be elevated.
