PERMITTING CLERKRiviera BeachTemp with possible Temp-to-hireThe essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.Reviews plans, engineering and permit documents, and other pertinent information at the public counter to verify accuracy and completeness of information.Process permit applications and plan intake; determine permit, plan, and process requirements for prospective applicants; review building plans and permit applications for completeness and compliance with established codes, ordinances, policies, and procedures.Process and issue building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, grading, and other related permits. Calculates fees based on established fee schedules, and monitors approval of plans by other regulatory agencies.Assist building inspectors, building officials, and other agencies by performing code and records research, preparing financial reports, and compiling data.Provide information to members of the public regarding building permit requirements, inspection, and general requirements of the permit process.Maintain computer files and other manual logs on all building permits and related documents.Provide front desk customer service to patrons; process permit and impact fees.Balance daily permit receipts and prepare appropriate daily reports for submittal to departmental accounting section.Performs related work as assigned.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:Requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.Requires six months experience reading and interpreting construction plans and building codes, or closely related experience.Special Certifications and Licenses:Certified Permit TechnicianIND3Telecom Communications Privacy Notice: By submitting for this position you will receive a text message from us and you agree and authorize us to send you text messages; you can reply STOP at any time to opt-out of text messaging from us.High School1-2 years
