Lead Install Technician (JD 72)Solar + BatteryWe are seeking an experienced Lead Install Technician to join our team. This role will be responsible for driving the success of solar + battery installation by running the day-to-day activities of a team installers for our Santa Barbara program. The position initially consists of making sure the crew is adequately staffed and ready to install residential solar and battery projects grouped geographically within the Santa Barbara area. The Technical Lead will work with the Field Service Supervisor to provide direct supervision to their team in the field, ensuring the successful completion of each battery and solar installation. This is a critical role that will make an impact in our growing business and take on new challenges at an exciting time. This position will help develop the process and tools for the field, ensuring the safe operation and installation of our products, while ensuring smooth interactions with the warehouse and project personnel. This role is based in our Oxnard, CA location.Responsibilities:Leads a team of installation technicians for solar plus battery storageAssist in scheduling for installation crewsTrain new employees Review job installation plan with crew and supervisorAssist in electrical design, site survey, permitting process, quality reviews and inspectionsAssists in managing and controlling inventory and consumable use and spendDrive Installation best practicesDrive safety and quality initiativesAssist in tracking inventory for each projectPrepare, load and organize installation vehiclesResponsible for Safety TrainingDiagnose and troubleshoot system components to resolve electrical issuesMaintain and clean up the job siteReview timekeeping reportsOther job duties include equipment purchasing, hardware store runs, equipment unloading and loading, answering homeowner and technician questions, and generally participating in activities necessary to make a solar and battery installation happenWork Experience:2+ years relative electrical construction and solar experience, including battery installation experience1+ yr experience leading a PV installation crewAbility to read and interpret single line drawingsStrong understanding of NEC codes with emphasis on residential PV installationsProficient on the installation of grid-tied and micro inverter applicationsExcellent customer service skills including verbal and written communicationsStrong computer skillsPhysical Requirements:Ability to make multiple trips up and down a ladder dailyAbility to lift, squat, deadlift, pull and carry up to 50 lbs. dailyAbility to work at the ground level, kneeling, or bending dailyAbility to kneel and stand repeatedly (lunges), on a daily basisComfortable in tight spaces (attic, crawlspaces, etc)Must be able to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces which requires frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balanceVisual acuity to drive motor vehicles/mobile equipment/read printed and electronic documentsHearing capacity to receive, perceive, and react to common driving/construction environment noises Education, Licenses & Certification Requirements:High school diploma or GED requiredC10, Electrical Journeyman's License a plusBilingual (English-Spanish plus)OSHA 30 Certification preferredNABCEP PV Installation Professional Certification preferredMust possess a valid driver's license in the state where the work is to be performedMust be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background and drug screening Must maintain a clean driving recordSalary:$30 pr/hr - $39 pr/hr*The pay range provided is a good faith estimate for this position only and in the geographical location noted.Our Competitive Benefits Package includes:Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage can begin on start date Paid Time OffGenerous 401(k) plan that includes employer match Life insurance and disability coverageVoluntary Pet Insurance coverage Employee Assistance PlanTeladoc Program10 paid holidays per yearOUR STORYElectriq Power's organic growth began in a San Leandro, CA garage in late 2014.
