Position Title Architect Reporting to the Director or Enterprise Application Solution Architecture, the Architect will have primary responsibility for improving our Service Oriented Architecture, working closely with the senior leadership team and IT organization to outline the future technology roadmap in support of a business transformation and commitment to driving innovation. This leader will be tasked with architecting the solutions, and applications functions and also drive reuse of services across the organization. In addition, the Integration Architect will be tasked with ensuring the company has the appropriate processes, guidelines, methodologies and governance structure to drive world-class architecture support in a practical and business-focused manner. Specific responsibilities will include Duties and Responsibilities Serve as the key leader in application architecture. Assess the current state architecture and develop a roadmap that supports continued innovation and drives a consolidated and simplified roadmap given the current technology platforms. Translate future state and current state in a way that is actionable and practical. Work closely with all Business Transformation teams to develop a business architecture competency linked to process improvement, streamlined operations, best practices, decreased costs and future revenue growth. Help support the business as the business model evolves to embrace both a B2C and B2B suite of solutions. Work in collaboration with the enterprise IT leadership team to establish architectural vision, standards and an investment roadmap in all areas of IT. Provide architecture support and input across the application, solution and business process teams for projects and programs on an ongoing basis. Act as a proponent for change. Champion change within and across organizational boundaries while also driving standard processes and standards. Evolve the process of an enterprise leader that delivers value by promoting best practices and improved partnership with the lines of business. Build a world-class governance model for IT. Evolve a structure to improve the metrics and decision making across IT. Develop the appropriate structure of checks and balances to support making good decisions linked to the overall business objectives. Functional Skills Strong technical foundation to include an undergraduate degree in computer science or engineering. An MBA or other appropriate advanced degree is strongly preferred. The successful candidate should have a minimum 12 years of information technology experience in roles of increasing complexity around enterprise architecture. Depth in large scale enterprise architecture is required. The successful candidate must be a skilled architect and have advanced knowledge and experience with solutionsapplication architecture, and business process design. Depth of knowledge of best in class architecture methodologies and an ability to apply next generation technology solutions in a rapidly changing business is expected. Proven IT strategy, governance and project management skills are required as is a track record of developing short and long range IT plans that are in alignment with business and technical requirements. The ability to determine and deploy resources to ensure achievement of goals and objectives is critical. Direct experience in application and solutions architecture is critical specifically in Service Oriented Architecture and a strong understanding in SOAP and Rest based webservices and how to properly secure them. Business architecture exposure is ideal. Past experience driving large scale process redesign and working closely with business leaders to impact productivity and efficiency efforts would be helpful. Experience working with Lean, Six Sigma or other quality and process improvement methods is preferred. Proven innovation and strategic visioning skills are important. The successful candidate must have demonstrable experience leading large change and innovation efforts and the exposure to best practices to ensure consistent delivery of projects, appropriate prioritization with the business and the metrics and dashboards to effectively communicate across the leadership team. Demonstrable track record working cross-functionally to drive change in a fast paced, high growth business. In connection with the continued transformation and growth of this business, the successful candidate will need to facilitate, mentor, educate and influence the business and technology team. A proven track record of driving innovation and new thinking is required. Business Experience Given the nature of the company, the successful candidate ideally will have a foundation of experience gained in a well-regarded business services company with B2C and B2B solutions. The successful candidate will be the strategic visionary of the future state technology environment required to evolve its business model and leverage technology as a competitive advantage. Previous experience in a company recognizing for these efforts is strongly preferred. While a foundation in a large and respected company is strongly preferred, the successful candidate ideally will have experience in an entrepreneurial, high growth environment where speed of execution is valued. The successful candidate must be comfortable juggling a wide variety of projects and possess the agility and tenacity to deliver on tight timelines with aggressive growth objectives. Large company foundational experience is highly desired. Recognizing the importance of driving business value through IT, the exposure to best practices and scale provided in a large company setting would be ideal. Given the business model, exposure to a distributed, field based workforce would be helpful. A track record working in a customer centric company is strongly preferred. With a commitment to putting the customer first and providing world class safety solutions, the successful candidate would benefit from having exposure to a similar culture and business model. Recognizing the company's vast field operations and large customer care centers, previous experience in a multi-site, multi-channel company such as telecommunications, cable, or home services is ideal. Personal Characteristics Given the pace of change at the company, the successful candidate must be comfortable in a dynamic and fast paced culture. This leader must be capable of spanning the continuum of strategic to tactical, have a roll up the sleeves mentality and thrive in organized chaos. A strong service and delivery mentality is required. The successful candidate must focus the team on service excellence and customer satisfaction while also providing thought leadership. Heshe must actively seek to understand internal and external customers' needs and perceptions and show a "can do" attitude to make IT an enabling partner. Results-focused leader who sets clear objectives, holds the team accountable, and establishes key metrics will be important. Establishes a track record as a reliable and consistent partner. Drives organizational initiatives beyond just delivering IT and set and adjust priorities effectively. Energizes others to excel and continuously improve. The successful candidate must have strong business acumen and intellectual curiosity. A passion for truly understanding the business and keeping it simple will be required to effectively integrate into the culture. Strong financial and business skills and a knack for picking up cues from across the business to surface important issues are expected. An ability to translate client needs into the IT roadmap and strategy is critical. Strong influencing and collaboration skills are important. The successful candidate must have the ability to persuade and build consensus cross-functionally. Heshe must be able to offer new ideas and build support for making significant changes. Fostering an environment for open exchange, asking good questions and listening to gain input and insight is expected. Developing strong business partnerships and credibility with senior leaders and IT colleagues will be critical. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are integral for success. The successful candidate will be expected to work across the organization with the business and IT. As such, heshe must be a clear and concise communicator and must effectively communicate at all levels and cross-functionally. A strategic thinker who understands the connections across the functions and looks at issues from multiple perspectives is important. The successful candidate should be able anticipate, think ahead and look downstream at cross-functional implications. Heshe must formulate long-term plans and communicate how IT can help transform the business. The successful candidate must be decisive and courageous in hisher leadership. Creating an exciting vision for the team, speaking openly and making timely and effective decisions are expected.
