Overview Responsible for effectively soliciting and becoming familiar with all accounts in his/her market segments. He/she is also responsible for prospecting and closing on assigned accounts/territory to positively impact hotel revenues. Ideal candidate will have knowledge of Business Transient. Responsibilities * Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed transient revenue goals through telephone prospecting, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication. * Advanced level of producing transient revenue through directly soliciting business via aggressive prospecting, making presentations, developing contracts, negotiating and closing sales. * Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel, both orally and in written form to previous, current and potential clients. * Handle account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented. Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts * Prepare information for, meet with and entertain clients as deemed appropriate by potential business from that account. * Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to all departments in the hotel to ensure high quality of service to customers. * Participate in daily business review meeting, pre-convention meetings, training and other sales-related meetings as required. * Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings. * Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis. * Maintain and participate in an active sales solicitation program. Conduct research and analyze Travelclickreports (Demand 360, Agency 360) STAR, MarRFP. * Assist in implementing special promotions, relating to direct sales segments, i.e. Corporate Sales blitzes, Wholesale promotions * Conduct professional, thorough site inspections of the hotel with clients, exhibiting key features and benefits of the property. * Understand all GDS Systems and Demand 360, Agency 360, STAR and other reports. * Understand loading rates into GDS. MarRFP a plus * 20% of time dedicated to developing tour and travel group market, small meetings (under 50). * Perform any other job related duties as assigned. Qualifications * Bachelors degree preferred. * 4 years of progressive hotel sales experience in a specific market preferred. * 3+ years of related experience * Advanced knowledge of market trends, competition and key customers of the hotel. * Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi. Advanced knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, training, and motivation of peers. * Command of the English language both written and verbal. * Must have a valid driver's license in the applicable state.
