Job Description:
Responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of
Import & Customs Brokerage activities. Activities include proactive
customer service, and customs brokerage transactions (which include
account setups, ISF, entry, and statement payments along with
billing and sales support activities). This is a small office with
approximately 130 entries per month. Principal Accountabilities
(The following is intended to describe the general nature and level
of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all
expectations.): --- Develop, implement and maintain procedures for
import brokerage department. This includes actively cross-training
import team members to support Import and Customs Brokerage
activities. --- Research and resolve customer complaints on import
brokerage service and operational issues.--- Assist the sales and
national support team in acquiring and maintaining customers. ---
Ensure compliant and timely service to customers. --- Ensure
accurate, timely, and profitable billing of all customers.---
Manage performance to ensure required levels of productivity, KPI
expectations, and revenue objectives are met.--- Responsible for
the profitability and consistent growth of the CHB and import
product. Accountability - Manage the activities for the import
brokerage department's functional area with full responsibility for
results in terms of compliance and profitability. Decision-making -
Take responsibility for equitable, profitable, and effective
servicing of our valued customers. Note- you will have the
authority to make decisions best for our customer. Resourceful -
Must be computer and internet literate and be able to utilize
national team resources as well as research capabilities to further
customer service goals. In addition, you must be able to say "I'll
find out how we can do that" instead of "no, we can't do that".

customers. Scope of position - You will have the responsibility to
inspire and drive the team to continued growth and success. You
have to be passionate about what you do, how you can contribute,
and always seek to find new ways and processes that can enhance
customer service and profitability. Growth of the brokerage product
is key to our success. Leading the import team to grow is key - and
you will also provide guidance to team members to achieve
understanding of CHB compliance and service goals to ensure
excellent customer service. Work is reviewed and measured based on
meeting objectives and performance requirements as specified by our
customers and company standards. Establishes and recommends changes
to policies which affect the organization and our customers.
Knowledge and Skills (The following minimum requirements are
guidelines only): This is a management-level position offering
growth and opportunity in a small but fast-expanding customs
brokerage operation. You must be familiar with and conversant in
ACE, PMS, ACH, PGA data sets, and in filing compliant
FDA/FWS/EPA/FCC/DOT/USDA related entries. We do it all - and you
must be willing to learn how to do it if you don't know how at the
moment. Excellent communication skills, computer literacy - and
most importantly, you cannot fear change and learning new ways to
do things. We like to say that learning is mandatory, while
education is optional. Must be a team player, self-starter, and be
passionate about your ability to effect positive change. We expect
you to be a licensed customs broker in good standing with CBP, but
we would prefer a minimum 3 years of import brokerage experience.
The use of good grammar and spelling skills is a necessity to
communicate with our globally-placed agents and offices.
Intermediate to advanced MS Office (Word, Excel) required; more
importantly - you must be comfortable in a high-tech environment
and in using web-based applications. If you can think fast, change
